TRUST

Who do you trust when things go haywire? when things don't go your way?
Proverbs 3:5- Trust in the Lord with all your hearts and lean not in your understanding, when your children exhibit certain traits you have dreaded to see in them, do you worry or call on God who created them in his own very image? When you are sick all of a sudden when you need to out there working, who do you turn to for good health?
Proverbs 3:6- Acknowledge him in all your ways and he shall direct your path. He is faithful that promised and he doesn't lie.
Call on God when you are confused, in misery, in pain, depressed, confused and any other disturbing feeling you can think up and he will answer. Call him through the study of the word, praises and prayers and you will have calmness because our Lord is a storm stiller.

Angry?

Ephesian 4:26- "In your anger do not sin........."
Anger is not a good thing and will never be good because it is bad for our health. Though you can get angry in a lot of situations unavoidably to enable a right environment for your family. An environment void of lies and wrong behaviour is necessary for a healthy home though there is need to be careful that in the bid of being angry rightly we do not introduce violence into our homes.
Correct in love, punish in love and always clarify why they are being punished, as much as possible avoid generalisation.
God chastises us as his beloved children when we go astray but he doesn't destroy us, we should be the same with our children biological or otherwise.
An Igbo adage says that a mother beats a child with the right hand and draws the child to herself with the left hand to comfort. God will help us mothers in Jesus name.

INCHARGE!

Ecclesiastes 7:14- "When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider; God has made the one as well as the other........"
A lot of times we forget that God is actually in charge of our lives, days and everything.
When we need money and none is forth coming we forget he can provide for without our help in any way we can imagine. We forget he created the heaven and earth, that he is the owner of all the silver and Gold and he said he is our Jehovah El-Shaddai (All sufficient God). He has enough to go round and remain if only we can remember this and believe then He will shower us with his goodness because with faith we would please (Heb 11:6).
We just need to be confident in what God has promised and it will be rewarded (Heb10:35).
Trust God for divine health, provisions and breakthroughs and you will be like mount Zion that won't be shaken and like a house built on a rock. Trust in him with all your heart and he will guide you through the good times and the bad because he is in charge (Proverbs 3:5-6)

BELIEVE!

Psalm 16:6- The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places, yea i have a goodly heritage.
We all have a goodly heritage as children of God. In our children we have a goodly heritage for it is written they are the heritage of the Lord (Psalm 127:3a). In our jobs as career men and women, housewives, buisness people and in various ways we contribute to the wellbeing of those around us, we have a goodly heritage because it is written that the works of our hands he shall bless (Deuteronomy 2:7).
When you are confused, overwhemled and as if nothing is adding up, you still have a goodly heritage. The word of God is yea and amen, it is also a living truth which we need to confess in our lives thereby refusing to give up because he has given his only begotten son to die for us and that is how much he loves us. So when he says we have a goodly heritage, we just need to believe that we do, that is all he wants from us BELIEVE!

Where Confidence Is

Where do you place your confidence today? What gives you strength? Hope? Encouragement? Some people find confidence in a relationship. When the relationship is going well, they are going well. But if there is a problem in that relationship, they are shaken. Some people find confidence in their job. But if things are not going well in the workplace, it rattles them to the core.
I believe God wants to teach us to trust Him today. He wants to be our source of strength and confidence. But many people have a difficult time trusting God because they think He's mad at them, or they aren't sure if He wants to do good to them. Always remember—God's not mad at you; He's madly in love with you!
Realize today that God is looking at you with good eyes, with sweet eyes, with loving eyes. He's not looking at what you've done wrong; He's looking at what you're doing right. Not only is He the God of love, He IS love and His arms are stretched out toward you today.
Why don't you take a moment and let that truth sink down into your heart? When you begin to really understand the way God sees you, it will affect your confidence in a whole new way. You'll go deeper and further with Him, knowing that He is at work in your life.

OUICK?

What are we quick to do as children of God when there is crisis or chaos.
It is said that silence is golden! when we are silent we get to hear the unceartainities, anger and confusion behind or contained in words from our children, spouses and friends. James 1:19 Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. It is important that we memorise this verse and it will guide us greatly in our relationships with others and we wouldn't have to go Ooops! i put my foot in my mouth! all the time.
As parents we always tell the children listen to me when i talk to you!
but do we listen to them when they speak to us?
when they make mistakes do we listen to their reason why?
or do we just get angry feeling that we have corrected enough?
James 1:20- Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires. We need to produce the righteousness that God desires as light of the world.

The Currents Are Moving Your Way

What are you praying and hoping for today? I want to encourage you to stand strong because God is faithful to His promises!
The scripture tells us that the moment we pray, the tide of the battle begins to turn. Have you been praying for a long time? I believe the currents of God are moving your way. The currents of God are going to rescue you. The currents of God are going to turn things around! They are going to shift things in your favor! We may not see those results instantaneously, but that's when we have to walk in faith and patience so we can see His promises come to pass. Hebrews 6 tells us that through faith and patience that we inherit God's promises.
I heard someone who was being funny say, "Lord, give me patience…and hurry up!" I think sometimes we pray like that, "Lord, I'm being patient about this thing, so please hurry up!" But we have to remember that when we are in faith, we are content to wait as long as it takes. It doesn't have to be done our way or in our timing. Our faith, our confidence in God is what causes that patience to rise out of our hearts. We trust that God is working even when we don't see it.
Today, whatever it is you are believing for, rest in Him. Allow faith and patience to quiet your heart. Put your confidence and hope in Him because He who promised is faithful! The tide of the battle is turning! As you stand in agreement with His Word, you are activating His power in your life, and I believe you will see those dreams and desires come to pass in Jesus' name!

Reconnecting

Josh 1:8 "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success"
Have you felt disconnected from God? Due to your busy schedule rushing for school run, office, market and home responsibilities you might be feeling overwhelmed and unable to have a moment to yourself but always know that when the word of God is in you,(Josh 1:8) he will always be with you even in the midst of a crazy schedule and he will make you to succeed because he is the author and finisher or our faith (Heb12:2a).
It is important as children of God to always focus on Jesus Christ and to keep memorising the word of God because it keeps us stable and focused.

NEW YEAR

We thank God who gave us this wonderful day and year to start afresh. Every one is still feeling the effects of the holidays. Even my children are finding it hard to wake and prepare for school. Infact as of yesterday she found it difficult to write her notes in school but she said "mama, today i will write verrrry fast". I hope she realises fast that christmas is over and a new season has begun.

In this new season, may we all rekindle our love for God and become more committed to doing things the right way as my friend would say " do things because they are right not minding what others are doing" I have thought of it and found that truly it is easier to go with the crowd but God loves that extra effort it takes to do what is right not considering what the crowd was doing.

In this new year may we recieve strength to do right at all times.

A new year! a new beginning! We thank God who has kept us to see this year. It is another opportunity to look well before leaping into or to anything. Another opportunity to love our children, our husbands and family right, encourage and pray for them. Another opportunity to pray more, be more faithful and kind to those around you.
In this new year don't let rejection keep you down! Don't let your environment affect the dream in your heart because this is a year of new opportunities! Deut 28:1-2,13 has assured us that if we live a life of obedience to God Almighty that we shall be the head and not the tail, at the top and never at the bottom. God has promised and he is faithful to keep His promises. So get ready for a year of awesome occurrences in your life, home, career, ministry and buisnesses.
