Rejoice!

I have every believe your weekend was wonderful like mine minus one thing. It was a wonderful and exhiliarating weekend till the moment i had cause to appreciate the fact that God's faithfulness is beyond imagination, because it is written that "--------thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds" - (Psalms 36:5b)! I was enjoying my mum's presence on Saturday afternoon when i got a very scary news of a terrible accident involving my brother but i thank God greatly that nothing happened to him and his friend even though the car was a write off.
In the process of rushing around i suddenly realised something when my sweetheart suggested we pray. There was this wonderful calmness all round as if we never got any disturbing news and i believe it's the confidence of knowing that God would always be on your side because he has loved you from the very beginning of time and gave his only begotten son for us to have peace, good health, victory, favour and every good thing available. (Psalms 89:33)- "Nevertheless my lovingkindness will i not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail"
In various situations facing you today God will grant you peace and victory over all. (Psalms 89:24a)- "But my faithfulness and mercy shall be with him:-----"

who works in you!

“God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.” (Philippians 2:13 NLT)
It is the Holy Spirit’s job to produce Christ-like character in you.
The Bible says, “As the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like him and reflect his glory even more” (2 Corinthians 3:18 NLT). This process of changing us to be more like Jesus is called sanctification.
You cannot reproduce the character of Jesus on your own strength. New Year’s resolutions, willpower, and best intentions are not enough. Only the Holy Spirit has the power to make the changes God wants to make in our lives. The Bible says, “God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him” (Philippians 2:13).
Mention the “power of the Holy Spirit,” and many people think of miraculous demonstrations and intense emotions. But most of the time the Holy Spirit’s power is released in your life in quiet, unassuming ways that you aren’t even aware of or feel. He often nudges us with “a gentle whisper” (1 Kings 19:12 NIV).
Christ-likeness is not produced by imitation, but by inhabitation. We allow Christ to live through us. “This is the secret: Christ lives in you” (Colossians 1:27 NLT).
How does this happen in real life? Through the choices we make. We choose to do the right thing in situations and then trust God’s Spirit to give us his power, love, faith, and wisdom to do it. Since God’s Spirit lives inside of us, these things are always available for the asking.

Days like this!

Some days you just wake up and feel like not doing anything or going anywhere but you know you must. When you remember there are people that do not have a choice in the matter but to stay in a place and wait for someone to assist them to do everything then you know there is a reason to thank God.
You can breathe without assistance!
You can walk without assistance!
You can talk without assistance!
You can sleep and wake up on your own!
You can use your brain, hands, mouth!
Even if you had assistance for all and you are still alive? You got no choice but to praise him that gave you the gift of life and rejoice because it is written in 1Thess 5:16 "Rejoice evermore" and 18 "In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you"(KJV).

confused

Being confused is not a good state to be in but sometimes we find ourselves in that state over our children, our husband, our ministry, our career even our choice of what to wear or eat!!!
It is so amazing how we can tangle ourselves up over things that don't really matter. God wants us to remain focused on him and everything will fall in place as he promised in Ps 16:6a "The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places;"

Rushed

Sometimes life can be so rushed and we begin to think and feel we are not doing enough or we are not doing something right to be this rushed. I felt that way this morning with terrible traffic jam during school run to numerous chores that seemed unending then I remembered that i could allow the calmness of His presence overshadow me and a sweet peace will be the result, the moment i handed the day to God, I felt a calmness, steadiness and peace that only God can give.

You can also do the same in your life no matter what you are facing the same peace is available to you because God has promised it in Phil.4:7 " And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus".

FAITH

“Walk with me and work with me — watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” (Matthew 11:29-30 MSG)
Jesus calls us to a level of intimacy that can only be sustained by his constant presence in our lives. He says, “Walk with me and work with me — watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace” (Matthew 11:29-30 MSG).
Jesus is real, and so our response to him must be real. In other words, we can’t just say we have faith; we must show our faith by doing what God tells us to do. Deitrich Bonhoeffer, an influential theologian who was martyred under the Nazi regime, says, “For faith is only real when there is obedience, never without it, and faith only becomes faith in the act of obedience.”
But taking a step in and of itself doesn’t mean we obey Jesus. He is very specific in what he tells us to do. He doesn’t say “Follow some general biblical principles” or “Submit yourself to a certain doctrine.” Jesus doesn’t present a plan for positive thinking or suggest seven simple steps to becoming his disciple. Jesus says, “Follow me,” and we do just that. Bonhoeffer also says, “Discipleship without Jesus Christ is a way of our own choosing. Even if our choice leads us to martyrdom, it is devoid of promise and Jesus will certainly reject it.”
Bonhoeffer notes we can never follow an idea in personal obedience. “Christianity without the living Christ is inevitably Christianity without discipleship; Christianity without discipleship is always Christianity without Christ.”
“It remains an abstract idea,” says Bonhoeffer, “a myth which has a place for the Fatherhood of God, but omits Christ as the living Son. And a Christianity of that kind is nothing more or less than the end of discipleship. In such a religion there is trust in God, but no following of Christ.”

RESPECT YOUR SPOUSE!

Do you respect your spouse? In respecting someone love is always involved.
For husbands: Love Your Wife as Christ Loves His Church (Eph 5:25)For wives: Respect Your Husband as the Head over You (Eph 5:22-23), there is always a thin line between being playful and being disrespectful.i have felt that thin line sometimes but God has always being faithful that i don't cross it often! Most of the problems in “so-called” Christian marriages of today is the husband fails to love his wife properly and the wife is not respecting her husband’s headship over her. Most Christian wives don’t allow their husband to be the man in the marriage. When we practice our God-given roles as husband or wife this is when we love appropriately.
We have to make up our minds and be convicted in our hearts and minds that we are children of God and therefore we MUST follow in His teachings and precepts for marriage, not our feelings or what others are doing in their marriage, or what they tell us to do.
We need to know what the bible says: a man NEEDS to love his wife (as Christ does His church) and a woman NEEDS to submit to and respect her husband. There is a big difference between knowing what the bible says and doing what the bible says, however.
We should not pattern our marriage on the yardstick of the world standard-Titus 2:12 "Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and wordly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world".

Tired!

I’m Tired

Some days I’m riding high. Things just work. They click. They go my way.

But some days, Lord, I can almost see the devil hindering me, laughing at me, breaking what I try to build, attacking me, lying to me, weakening me. He mocks my hopes, makes me doubt, urges me to ignore you, and makes despair look like my only option.

I don’t know how long I can go on like this. Lord, I’m so tired. “The enemy pursues me, he crushes me to the ground; he makes me dwell in darkness like those long dead. So my spirit grows faint within me; my heart within me is dismayed” (Psalm 143:3,4).

Where can I go but to you? When my body is giving out, I must have strength from you. When my mind is confused, I must get clarity from your Word. When my path is nothing but fog, I must get directions from you. When my spirit sags, I must get courage from you.

May I be bold to remind you that I am your child? May I point out that my baptism has sealed me in the Spirit and that you have accepted responsibility for my well-being? Remember that I am part of the body of your Son. Pour out your Spirit upon me, Lord, and give me courage to live joyfully and confidently. Can we start today?
